Personal Leadership and the Responsibilities of a Manager Masterclass
This Masterclass will explore personal leadership and responsibilities of a manager, and encourage managers to be aware of their own styles and methods and how they affect their team’s performance.
Self-awareness is defined as the ability to reflect on and accurately assess one’s own behaviours and skills as they are manifested on the job. It is an important ability for achieving leadership excellence. Enhanced self-awareness leads to higher levels of personal performance.
During the Masterclass, participants will be able to reflect and put under scrutiny their leadership behaviours and mind-sets, developing new and alternative approaches to support their personal leadership development and role as a manager, using recognised frameworks, models and practical examples. They will be able to transfer their learning back into the workplace easily and effectively.
This Masterclass will look at:
- Evaluation of your leadership qualities against a recognised framework and finding out what that means for you and those you manage
- Self-reflection of your own leadership in the context of your role as manager
- Review of line management responsibilities and discovering what makes an effective manager
- Action planning the next steps in your development and applying these learnings
Who is the masterclass for?
This Masterclass is for all growing SMEs within the Sheffield City Region, as long as the eligibility criteria is met.
It is primarily for those who have taken on a management role for the first time or those who aspire to do so. It will be equally useful for managers who have been in their role for some time and would like to refresh their skills and knowledge.
