Jobs, training and volunteering will be on the agenda at an open day in February when people can meet local employers and tap into expert advice.
The free event is being organised by the Talent Match team at Doncaster West Development Trust (DWDT) who support young people to access work and training opportunities. It is open to people of all ages who want to find out more about jobs, skills and work experience.
It takes place at the Dearne Valley Leisure Centre in Denaby Main on Tuesday, February 7 and representatives from a wide variety of agencies are expected to attend including the Prince’s Trust, DWDT’s Money Matters advisors, Mexborough Jobcentre, DWP and POA Learning.
People can drop in any time between 10.45am and 2.30pm, refreshments will be available and there’s also the chance to enter a free prize draw.
There’s still time for employers to book a stand to advertise their vacancies and meet potential applicants so please telephone DWDT for details.
The open day is also being backed by Turnaround Volunteer Support, a joint initiative run by DWDT and Doncaster Council’s Well Doncaster project, which links volunteers in Conisbrough and Denaby to local community groups.
Volunteering is a great way to gain confidence, new skills and work experience which can all improve employment prospects as well as being a great source of support to local community organisations.
To find out more, drop in on the day or telephone DWDT on 01709 866466.
