Regional Property Auctioneers (RPA) is heading for a 100 per cent success record in selling lots offered by Grimsby-based Jackson Green and Preston.
James Vandenbrook, auction manager and valuer at RPA, said increasing numbers of sellers and bidders are being attracted as a result of the greater variety of properties being offered, and the wider geographical area.
He said: “We’ve been able to offer increasing numbers of properties in the Grimsby and Cleethorpes area as a result of our relationship with Jackson Green and Preston. We started with one or two properties and during the summer we increased that to five. We already have seven from Grimsby and Cleethorpes listed for our next auction.”
RPA holds regular auctions at Castle Park Stadium, Armthorpe Road, Doncaster. The next sale will take place on Wednesday 26 October.
Properties from the Grimsby and Cleethorpes area which were sold at previous auctions include two and three-bedroom houses, a former dental surgery in Hainton Avenue, Grimsby, and a mixed retail and residential property in Corporation Road, Grimsby, which was offered after the owners succeeded in selling the adjacent property through RPA.
Lots at the next auction range from terraced houses in Grimsby with guide prices of around £40–50,000 to a detached dormer bungalow with up to five bedrooms for £180,000. Development opportunities include land with planning permission for four flats.
Kevin Broadhurst, a partner in Jackson Green and Preston, agreed the joint approach through his relationship with RPA auctioneer Gary Thompson, a chartered surveyor with more than 30 years’ experience.
Mr Broadhurst said: “We want to build the auction side of the business and we’re very encouraged by the success so far. We are using our contacts across the region to take properties to a wider audience, and that is bringing clear benefits for our clients.
“We are the largest agent in Grimsby and Cleethorpes and the surrounding area and we sell more than anybody else. We cover the North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire area and we also market properties further afield so we have established an ongoing relationship with RPA that we want to build on.”
Mr Vandenbrook said more properties are being sought for future auctions, with the next sale presenting some interesting opportunities.
He said: “The brochure is available via our website and there are some very interesting properties. Our partnership with Jackson Green and Preston has got off to a good start and we’re confident of future success by being able to reach vendors and purchasers from a much wider area.”
