Covid-19 Business Support Grants
Updated: 25 February 2021 at 12:45pm
Here you will find information about the grants and financial help available to local businesses as a result of Covid-19 local and national restrictions.
Click the links below to learn more about eligibility and the different grants available for:
- Businesses that are registered to pay business rates,
- Businesses that are NOT registered to pay business rates,
- Specific business types, such as home-based businesses, wet led pubs, taxi drivers and supply chains.
If you have any further questions about the above grants please view Doncaster Council's FAQs section.
Following the Prime Minister's announcement on 22 February that current national restrictions remain in place, further grant payments are payable to businesses under the Local Restrictions Support Grant (LRSG) (closed business) scheme for businesses registered for business rates.
If you have already received grant payments, or have an application outstanding under the LRSG (closed business) scheme, we will automatically identify eligible businesses and make additional payments at the following rates:
Rateable Value Grant amount payable:
Under £15,000 - £2,096
£15,001 to £50,999 - £3,143
£51,00 and over - £4,714
The Additional Restrictions Support Grant (ARG) schemes including those for businesses not registered for business rates, supply chain businesses, and open businesses are awarded from limited funding given to Sheffield City Region (SCR) therefore, we cannot currently confirm if these schemes will also be extended as a result of the Government's announcement. Regrettably, as remaining funding is limited not all schemes will be subject to additional payments.
We ask that business who have previously received support under any of these schemes remain patient. Should sufficient funding remain available to extend any of the ARG schemes, we will automatically identify eligible businesses under the relevant schemes, and where further payments are applicable, we will process payments to you as soon as possible.
What do you need to do?
If your business has already received grant payments under the Local Restrictions Support Grant scheme (LRSG) you DO NOT need to re-apply for any additional payments payable as a result of the Government’s announcements. We will automatically identify eligible businesses under the scheme, and where a further payment is applicable, we will process payments to you as soon as possible. Please allow up to 10 working days from any announcement for us to identify eligible businesses and make payment. You will receive a further email notification once any payment has been made to you. Please be aware, that not all schemes will be subject to additional payments.
If you have an outstanding grant application under the LRSG scheme and have not yet received payment, you DO NOT need to re-apply
If you have already submitted an application, but have yet to receive payment, do not worry. If you are eligible, all payments will be automatically included once your application is approved. Please DO NOT submit a repeat application.
If your circumstances have changed, you must tell us immediately
If you no longer meet the eligibility criteria to receive a grant, have breached state aid limits or no longer wish to receive grant payments, you must tell us straightaway at email@example.com.
Any deliberate manipulation or withholding of information to incorrectly receive a grant is considered an act of fraud, subject to prosecution and any money paid under the grant scheme will be recovered from you.
If you have not yet applied for a business support grant, please check the schemes for information about the eligibility and how to apply online.
