Safeguarding Awareness Training - Doncaster Private Hire & Taxi Trade

It is a mandatory requirement for all of Doncaster’s taxi and private hire drivers and operators to attend training on how they can assist in identifying possible victims of abuse and exploitation, including the signs of child sexual exploitation (CSE), as part of an initiative to help them play a role in reporting concerns.

The training aims to advise those employed or looking to be employed in the Doncaster taxi/private hire trade on what to look out for and how to report any concerns and/or suspicious behaviour thereby helping protect vulnerable people from abuse and exploitation.

Each person attending will receive an information pack, including a new direct hotline for exclusive use of the Doncaster taxi/private hire trade reporting safeguarding issues.

Private Hire Operators are required to pass this information on to all their employees.

The training will empower you to raise concerns at an early stage which allows police and other agencies to prevent harm and take action against potential offenders. By working in partnership with the taxi trade and other local businesses, we will have more eyes and ears on the ground to help us protect and safeguard vulnerable people.

The training will also help to reassure the public that our drivers and operators are safe and aware.
