There is something about the Doncaster Business Showcase that brings a very strong ‘feel good factor’ to Doncaster and the business community, don’t you think? It is claimed as THE event of the year to attend whether you are an exhibitor or a visitor in the region.
The event that took place yesterday (16 February) was a complete sell out weeks before and on the day attracted over 200 exhibitors and more than a thousand visitors to the Doncaster Racecourse for a day of networking and building business relationships.
We here at Business Doncaster firmly believe the Business Showcase is by far the best in the region in providing promotional support to local businesses with the opportunity for attendees to learn more about subjects such as business support, council procurement, Doncaster Chamber membership, Growth Hub support, elements of building control and funding opportunities available as well as being the largest business to business networking event in the region.
As event organisers, we find it really important to make each Showcase different from year to year, and also make the event as exciting as possible for the attendees and the exhibitors.
New to the event this year was ‘Handmade in Doncaster’, a new brand that the Business and Enterprise Team launched on the day. This area provided dedicated support to new start businesses or those who are thinking of starting in business and was equipped with Business Advisers on hand to answer any questions on starting a business.
The car displays provided by Burrows Toyota and Pentagon Group looked brilliant at the entrance too and not to mention the huge Dragon Boat supplied by Gable Events that you really could not miss! This year’s annual Dragon Boat Race will take place on Saturday 15 July at Doncaster Lakeside. If you or your business fancies their chances at claiming the winner’s title for 2017 then please get in touch with Richard Young at Richard.email@example.com. All proceeds from this event go towards supporting local charities.
Attendees also made the most of the opportunity to grab a photo in the Diamond Photo Booth, another one of our exhibitors on the day. The Diamond Photo Booth team set up a photobooth which was really popular all day and provided free fun photos to visitors.
We were delighted to welcome the fabulous Talegate Theatre production company in action once again, they would certainly brighten anyone’s day with their wit, charm, fun personalities and pantomime style characteristics.
So from, dragon boats to cupcakes and marketing agencies to safety equipment, there really was something for everyone!
The feedback we have already received from many of the exhibitors said that it was by far the best business supported event of the year and the biggest and best Business Showcase to date!.
Here is just a sample of some of the feedback we have received:
“It was great to meet so many new people at the Business Showcase today! Thanks to the organisers for all you did to make things run so smoothly” – Doncaster Speakers
“Great chat today with Pentagon Group at the Doncaster Business Showcase. Look forward to a meeting about potential business” – Dice Doncaster
“Thanks for an excellent day. Enjoyed meeting all you lovelies and sharing the future vision for Doncaster” – Doncaster Planning Department
“Great day speaking to businesses at the Business Showcase” – Sheffield City Region Skills Bank
These are just a few of the exhibitors which benefited from the Business Showcase and it is clear to see that this is a ‘much-needed’ and ‘well supported’ event in the Doncaster business calendar.
The day consisted of a very exciting and interactive exhibition hall full of products, services, competitions, games, freebies and tasty treats which really engaged the visitors and made fantastic talking points.
Heather Hamilton, event organiser at Business Doncaster said: “Businesses need to be able to come along to an event such as this to find out what is going on in Doncaster and the surrounding areas, meet new people and get business deals done and I was delighted to see many familiar faces as well as new ones.”
“Business Doncaster is really proud of how this annual Business Showcase has turned into a key business event in the Doncaster business community. It is really rewarding to hear about all the connections made at the event and plans for next year’s event are already underway for 2018!” she added.
