Businesses and education providers to share insight into industry opportunities

Over 1,000 students from across the borough will speak to education providers and employers about career pathways and opportunities at the Doncaster Skills Academy’s flagship event, Skills Fest 2018.

The day-long event is open to the public as well as students from Years 8 to Post 16 from schools and colleges to meet more than 60 local and national employers, universities, colleges, and training providers. Each exhibitor will offer industry based ‘Have a go’ activities for attendees to gain an insight into the different industries and career pathways available.

“Skills Fest 2018 is designed to cater for all students in the local area, providing them with the chance to think about the different careers and pathways available to them and help raise their aspirations. For those who know what they want to do, this is the prime opportunity to speak to potential future employers, and/or their preferred universities and colleges.  For who don’t, there will be a plethora of employers and education providers showcasing their industries and courses on offer,” says Tina Slater, Head of Business & Education, Doncaster Chamber and Doncaster Skills Academy.

Attend the Doncaster Skills Academy Skills Fest 2018 on Thursday 1 February 2018, 9am to 5pm at The Dome (DN4 7PD).
