Following last month’s launch of the 2019 Doncaster Business for the Community Vase Cricket Challenge the town’s business led charity has been inundated with sponsorship offers and player registrations.
DB4C had already confirmed that Tickhill Cricket Club would for the first time host their annual cricket challenge, now in it’s third year and the move has been positively welcomed by local businesses.
The event will take place on Sunday 8th September at the end of a summer that will have been packed with cricket action and an unprecedented level of interest in the sport following England’s remarkable victory in the World Cup and soon to be hopefully followed by success in The Ashes. As a result DB4C has witnessed a record level of early sign-ups for the match, which, will once again see The Commercial Legends and The Business All-stars compete for the DB4C Vase in a 20-20 game format. Places are now limited and DB4C urges anyone wanting to play to register their interest as soon as possible as practice sessions have already begun.
The annual cricket challenge was the first event to be organised by DB4C, the ground breaking and highly innovative charitable trust run entirely by the town’s business community which raises much needed funds for local charities and community projects. The event has gone from strength to strength with a tried and tested format and like all of DB4C’s sporting events players will be drawn from across the business community and this year’s beneficiaries have already been confirmed as Create A Dream and The Hygiene Bank.
As a result of this success DB4C is proud to announce three key sponsors for this year’s match. TFG Capital has been confirmed as the Match Sponsor and as such the teams will be competing for “The TFG Capital Doncaster Business Community Vase”. James Mortimore of TFG Capital said:
“TFG are delighted to be sponsoring the DB4C annual cricket vase in support of 2 great charities in Create a Dream and The Hygiene Bank. I’m sure the day will be a great success and showcase how sport can bring the business community together whilst raising plenty of money for the charities and plenty of laughs for the spectators.”
In addition HSR Law and Polypipe have also been confirmed as the teams’ shirt sponsors.
Fabian Braithwaite, Managing Partner of HSR Law Solicitors commented:
“As a locally based law firm, we are proud to continue to support Doncaster Business for the Community for a third year having been impressed with the positive difference they have made to a variety of worthy causes within our town.”
Cameron McLellan, Polypipe Divisional Managing Director said:
“Polypipe are pleased to be sponsors of the DB4C annual cricket match - with the main objectives to have fun and raise lots of money for two worthy local charities.”
DB4C Director and Cricket Task Team Member Gary Rogers added:
“We are naturally delighted to confirm TFG Capital, HSR Law and Polypipe, three highly successful and high profile Doncaster Businesses as our sponsors for this year’s match. We are very grateful for their support and commitment. DB4C, supported by companies like these, has achieved so much since its inception, proving that the town’s businesses through their participation in our sporting events care deeply about the community and its well-being.”
