Local businesses have the opportunity to play their part in delivering three major projects in Doncaster.
Business Doncaster, the economic development arm of Doncaster Council, together with its main contractor Willmott Dixon Construction is hosting a Local Supply Chain and Networking event at Doncaster Racecourse on Wednesday 13 December 2017 between 8:30am and 12:30pm.
Attendees at the event will meet the project delivery teams from Willmott Dixon Construction and learn about supply chain opportunities for the Doncaster Wool Market redevelopment, the Herten Triangle leisure development at Lakeside and the Doncaster Cultural and Learning Centre – the new central library, museum and archives centre which will rejuvenate the former girls school in the town centre.
As well as meeting the main contractor, the event will enable attendees to forge important business relationships by networking with key stakeholders, other like-minded businesses and various support agencies.
Cllr Bill Mordue, Cabinet Member for Business, Skills and Economic Development, said: “These ‘Meet the Buyer’ events have proved incredibly popular and very rewarding for local businesses in the past. In the last few years they have helped Doncaster-based businesses win work valued at over £14million on our transformational schemes across the borough.”
Cllr Mordue continued: “We want our local people and businesses to have access to work and supply chain opportunities when we deliver our major schemes so our local economy benefits every step of the way. This will be an excellent networking event for anyone working in the construction industry. Whether you are a builder or on-site catering specialist, this event is your opportunity to find out about the potential work packages.”
