Exceptional Standard of Legal Training in Doncaster Recognised

A leading Doncaster law firm has been shortlisted for a prestigious national award.

Atherton Godfrey has made it through to the finals of the Training and Recruitment awards, organised by London based recruitment specialists, LawCareers.net (LCN).

The awards are a highly sought after accolade for law firms as the nominations come as a result of feedback from thousands of trainees and newly qualified solicitors.

It is these opinions that form a reliable picture of the best performing law firms throughout England and Wales.

Atherton Godfrey is no stranger to the awards as the firm has been nominated in at least one category almost every year since 2004 and is the only Doncaster based firm to have won one of the awards.

Diane Parker, training principal, commented; “The legal sector is a very competitive environment. We are now competing against national and international law firms that act as magnets to trainees.

We currently have three trainees at various stages of their two-year training contract. The 2020 trainees are already in placements within the firm, gathering experience, before they begin their training contracts. We are now recruiting trainees for our 2021 programme.

To help us recruit candidates of the highest quality, we make sure that we offer a robust training programme which allows trainees to work in various departments, giving them a good understanding of how the law is applied across these different areas. This approach enables our aspiring lawyers to make informed decisions about their career path, ensuring they are well placed to go on to achieve their full potential.

I think the nominations are evidence that we are getting the process right.”

Atherton Godfrey staff will join representatives from more than 60 of the country’s law firms as they head to London on Thursday 16 May, where winners of the coveted awards will be announced.
