Home Care starts with Clemence Rogers

Clemence Rogers Home Care is a unique new home care business in Doncaster, the only one with a pharmacist independent prescriber as the registered manager.

Wendy Rogers, registered manager of Clemence Rogers Home Care has over 25 years’ experience working as a pharmacist within the community, supporting carers and care homes.

Wendy is registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) to write private prescriptions when necessary and is very passionate about ensuring her clients get the best from their medication as well as being appropriately supported in using the medication correctly.

Clemence Rogers Home Care is regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and all care workers are subject to Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance. Working in partnership with other professionals and services, Wendy ensures the most effective care and wellbeing is provided to individuals and their families who are looking for support to stay in their own homes, promoting independence and maximise quality of life. Support is very much tailored to the individual needs of the client and their family.

The business provides the following services:

  • Home care
  • Home services
  • Respite and holiday care
  • Live incCare
  • Dementia and alzheimer’s care
  • Palliative care

Gary Rogers (Wendy’s husband) also runs a recruitment agency in Doncaster - Clemence Rogers Recruitment which is based on one of the business parks at Doncaster Sheffield Airport. Both businesses operate from the same office with Gary offering support with the recruitment of local staff.

Sue Harrison, Business Doncaster manager said “I am always keen to offer support and guidance to local businesses and have worked with Gary for a number of years on a number of business growth projects. It is great to see businesses such as this, diversifying and entering new markets using the appropriate skills and qualifications within the team. I wish them every success for the future”

While the global life expectancy has gone up over the past decade (six years longer on average), people are increasingly experiencing a number of other dispiriting health issues caused by increasing rates of disability and illness. The Home Care market is increasing and in need of a local quality care company to meet the needs of an ageing population.

Wendy currently works and trains carers in Doncaster, so setting up her own care company was a natural progression for her to take.
