This year’s Tour de Yorkshire rides into Doncaster on Thursday 3 May.
The exciting spectacle is expected to attract event-goers to view the race along the route and enjoy the many attractions at the Fan Zone – an action packed family extravaganza on Town Fields.
As with an event of this scale, it’s inevitable there will be some disruption to traffic.
Doncaster Council is working closely with partners and local communities to help minimise disruption and ensure businesses, residents and spectators receive the relevant information in advance to assist with planning your journey and day well in advance.
Bennetthorpe and South Parade will be closed for traffic on 3 May and rolling road closures will be in operation along the route while both the women’s and men’s races come through Doncaster.
A638 Bawtry Road will be closed from Parrots Corner to the racecourse roundabout for approx. 1 hour around lunchtime and again late afternoon, with no access from side roads. Please make alternative arrangements if you use this road or any part of the race route. Better still, why not go out with family, friends or colleagues and soak up the great atmosphere at the Fan Zone or on route?
If you have to drive, please ensure you plan ahead and make yourself familiar with race timings and allow additional time for your journey.
