Local firms proudly support Doncaster's flagship Buiness Conference

The Doncaster Business Conference is back for its third year, with an incredible line up of guest speakers and panellists, discussing the matters which are important to Doncaster businesses.

The event will focus on two key themes for Doncaster: ‘How can we set the city standard?’ and ‘How do we become an education city?’ .

Sheffield Hallam University, solicitors Taylor Bracewell, and specialist lender Together headline sponsor the conference.

Sharon Beck, Managing Partner, Taylor Bracewell commented: "We are supporting this event as we were one of the founding sponsors and were so impressed with all of the information and inspiration about what is happening in Doncaster that we have continued to be involved each year. We make a point of taking our apprentices and junior members along, as this event drives home how much is happening in our town and what great possibilities there are for our young people."

Barry Dillon, Regional Development Director at financial services group Together said: “We’re delighted to be supporting the Doncaster Business Conference.  Doncaster is in an exciting period of growth and investment, with developments such as the FARRS link road providing easy access to the airport and major routes, the national college for high speed rail basing itself in the town, the airport seeing more flights to popular resorts across Europe, and many major housing developments, so it’s a great time for the region.

“There is also the iport under construction, providing strategic rail freight interchange, and many multinational companies, such as Amazon, having a major logistics operation in the town. The business community in Doncaster should be getting excited for the future and we at Together want to be a part of that by helping to ensure businesses, investors and entrepreneurs can access the funding they need.”

High profile speakers and panellists include: Andrew Percy MP, Caroline Flint MP, Dan Fell (Chief Executive Officer, Doncaster Chamber), Dave Sheridan (Chief Executive, Keepmoat Group), Dr Adam Marshall (Director General, British Chambers of Commerce), Dr Ann Limb (Chair, Education and Skills Commission) , Gary Gee (Rossington Hall Golf Developments), Greg Wright (Deputy Business Editor, The Yorkshire Post ), Kelvin Fitton (President, Doncaster Chamber and Partner, Smith Craven) , Professor Heather Campbell (The University of Sheffield), and Wes Sugden Brook (Director, Drenched). The conference will be facilitated by Professor Kevin Kerrigan (Pro Vice Chancellor for Enterprise and the Dean of the Sheffield Business School).

For the first time the conference will also include a mayoral hustings style event which will see mayoral candidates from the main local parties, go head to head in a debate around the key issues which matter to local businesses.

The Doncaster Business Conference takes place on 21 April, 8am - 1pm at The Legacy Centre, Doncaster.
