Mech FS makes a move into Leeds

A Doncaster mechanical and electrical engineering firm has today announced a move into West Yorkshire following the administration of LX Engineering (North).

Mech FS – based in Beckingham, Doncaster, has opened a new office in Thorpe Park in Leeds, creating roles for eight employees from LX Engineering (North) Ltd in the process.

Paul Sutherland, chief executive of Mech FS, said: “It was part of our business strategy to develop a presence in Leeds and we recognised this opportunity was the right fit for us.

“We are pleased to be able to step in and provide these jobs in the aftermath of such a worrying time and look forward to welcoming the new staff into the Mech FS family.

“We are experiencing strong growth across the UK and Europe with a forward order book in excess of £50 million and this new office strengthens our delivery capability. It’s a really exciting time for us and our staff.”

With its head office in Doncaster, Mech FS – which employs more than 140 people - also has offices in Sheffield and Birmingham and a newly opened European office located in Mannheim, Germany.

The company specialises in providing technology-led design, manufacture and install solutions, such as bespoke air conditioning, heating and plumbing systems, to the construction industry, working within the distribution and fulfilment, student and hotel accommodation, automation and retail sectors.
