New video service helps the region’s SMEs plan in uncertain times

The Yorkshire operation of has launched a free service to help the region’s SMEs and scale-ups affected by the Coronavirus crisis.

With many Yorkshire firms in lockdown, is offering them a free consultation with one of its experienced regional directors to help them to their situation, consider ways to adapt the changing circumstances and enhance their growth prospects over the longer-term. 

The Growth Diagnostic service will be carried out by video link and firms will receive a detailed report and recommendations.  It is completely free to all companies employing between 10 and 1,000 staff throughout the UK until the end of June. provides part-time executive directors for commercial, operations and CEO roles. CEO John Courtney says: “While many businesses will be focused on immediate issues at present - such as cashflow problems or making the transition to remote working - once these are addressed, they need to take stock and start looking to the future.” 

Mike Stewart regional director for Yorkshire says: “A crisis or a downturn in business will create an opportunity to make the region’s businesses stronger going forward. What better time for the regions SMEs and scale-ups to review strategy to combat these unique circumstances now and to be in better shape when ‘normality’ resumes? 

Stewart, who has held operations and managing director level roles in manufacturing adds : “Some key industries in Yorkshire such as manufacturing, professional services and tourism are in a vulnerable position. However, the situation is highly fluid and unpredictable. There could be a fast rebound and demand might resume quicker than anticipated.” 

“Yorkshire businesses should use this time productively, even if demand is weak, and be in a position to take advantage of any positive developments.” - which operates from Scotland to Cornwall with 12 regional directors and over 50 experienced advisors - will also be introducing a free Finance & Funding Diagnostic service to help firms assess their funding requirements in the current crisis.
