Logistics property specialist Verdion has launched the next phase of a speculative development at iPort Doncaster, a six million sq ft logistics and rail freight hub in South Yorkshire.
Verdion is beginning construction on two units of 120,000 sq ft and 60,000 sq ft scheduled for completion in Q3 2018.
iPort comprises 337 acres of net development land in total, with links to the M18, Great Yorkshire Way and the A1 as well as a strategic rail freight terminal nearing completion on site.
Once the new phase is completed, iPort will cover 2.73 million sq ft of development with a remaining 3.27 million sq ft to be brought forward over the coming years.
CBRE, Colliers International and Gent Visick are advising Verdion.
John Clements, European development director at Verdion, said: "This new space is designed to suit occupiers seeking highly-specified warehousing in a short time frame.
"With sustained demand for high quality buildings and Amazon, CEVA and Fellowes already committed to iPort, the time is right to look ahead to the next phase of development.
"iPort already has reserved matters consent, all its infrastructure is in place and land plots have been fully prepared for development, meaning construction work can start early in the new year and complete in Q3.
"Our current 195,000 sq ft unit is ready for occupation and build to suit opportunities are running in parallel too."
