Local Marketing business Keane, who have a high end technical team in place, won the contract to design and develop the online training platform for Hummingbird U.A.V.
To operate a drone commercially in the UK you need to gain a Permission for Commercial Operations (PfCO) from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). Hummingbird UAV’s CAA Drone Training Course will allow you to gain the full up-to-date package of skills, knowledge and experience needed to apply for your PfCO.
Hummingbird decided that online training was something they’d like to do. The message they heard quite a lot was that the classroom environment isn’t for everyone. The online training platform, developed by Keane allows pilots to learn at their own pace until they then attend a half day classroom session which culminates in a Theory Examination in the morning and flight assessment in the afternoon. All of which is approved by the CAA.
Pilots must complete all the E-Learning modules and Operations Manual online and then book a date for a one day theory examination flight assessment.
Hummingbird are still the only combined Helicopter pilot and drone pilot training company in the UK. Their instructors are all both helicopter or fixed wing AND drone flight instructors.
Offering this level of broad aviation knowledge and experience is second to none in the industry. They have 5 permanent training locations Doncaster, Lee on Solent, Nottingham, Wickenby, Ashford and are about to start running courses with Salford University at their Media city location.
“We love the look of the training portal created by Keane. It has a very high quality feel to it. The design has required little input from us which is great. Keane understood the brief and created exactly what we needed at first attempt. The process that the customer follows throughout the e-learning is straightforward and clear.
We’ve known Fiona and the team since we set up in business 3 years ago, the year we started Hummingbird helicopters. They a very professional set up, when working with Keane we know we can relax and let them get on with the work. In our experience this level of trust can only exist when you employ the best.”
