Switalskis Solicitors’ South Yorkshire family team has ranked highly in its first Legal 500 listing – the legal sector's independent and authoritative directory of law firms.
The national Legal 500 guide ranks firms based on feedback from clients, legal professionals and others who refer work to them. The 2020 guide has rated Switalskis’ South Yorkshire family team in Tier 3.
The guide also singles out several members of Switalskis’ South Yorkshire-based team for praise, including Alison Kitchman who joined the firm's Doncaster office in 2018 as a solicitor and collaborative family lawyer. Alison has already built a strong client base and flow of referrals as part of the South Yorkshire Family Law team. The guide has described Alison as “sensible, warm, good and makes sure clients feel comfortable knowing they will be well looked after.”
Alison says: “I am delighted that Switalskis is now listed for the first time in South Yorkshire following the opening of our Doncaster and Sheffield offices and I am keen to assist Switalskis climb the ranking to Tier 2. On a personal level, this is the fifth year running that I have been named as an individual in the Legal 500 and I am particularly proud that this year I have been recognised for my commitment to client care. I have recently become a Mental Health First Aider as I believe it is important that we support each other to have good mental and physical health throughout our lives, particularly when going through difficult times such as separation and divorce.”
Switalskis director and brain injury and serious injury specialist, Mark Hollinghurst, has been described in the guide as “calm, courteous and doggedly determined”. Operating out of the firm's Doncaster office, Mark focuses on complex, specialised personal injury cases and on traumatic brain injury from accidents and assaults. He also heads up a team dealing with abuse claims against therapists and other professionals. Mark’s personal injury team has received a Tier 2 ranking in the guide.
The Legal 500 listing describes Mark as “a very good lawyer and approaches his cases with care and thought. He has a pragmatic approach to litigation, seeking the sensible and workable outcome rather than becoming fixated upon being right – an admirable quality in a good solicitor. He is nobody’s pushover and his calm manner and courteous style, even in the face of aggression from his opposite numbers, is a reflection of his quiet strength.”
John Durkan, Switalskis Solicitors MD says: "The Legal 500 guide is very important to us because it directly relates to the views and experiences of our clients and referrers. Their positive feedback reflects our commitment to providing high quality advice and representation, and I'm very happy to see our South Yorkshire family team ranking so well in its first listing and hearing such positive comments about our solicitors across the region."
Switalskis Solicitors provides expert legal advice and representation for people and businesses from 12 locations across Yorkshire in areas of law including family, medical negligence, catastrophic injury and child abuse law.
