Purple Vouchers is the bright, fun discount voucher brand that’s all Yorkshire at heart. Started in Doncaster 7 years ago, the business has thrived and is now about to publish it’s 7th annual edition – and founding director Jackie Hamilton couldn’t be more excited:
“Our Purple Vouchers Doncaster discount book has been a great success since launching in 2011, and our seventh edition will be better than ever. We are so proud of the town and it’s vision for the future - there couldn’t be a better place to base our business.”
Building on the success of the Doncaster book, Jackie and her team have expanded the business to include a Leeds edition. This is natural, organic growth, and the first stage of a planned strategy to bring the Purple Vouchers brand to a larger audience. “The addition of a Leeds book was a natural step to take,” says Jackie. “Like Doncaster, Leeds is going through an exciting period of change, and the city has a real ‘energy,’ which we love.”
Purple Vouchers is a discount business with a difference. The PV product is not the usual ‘throwaway’ pamphlet or leaflet – it’s a real, beautifully designed and finished A6 format book. It’s bright, colourful and convenient – perfect for keeping in a handbag or jacket pocket. Small but substantial, the Purple Vouchers books are crammed with discounts and incentives on the products and services that we all need and actually want – everything from eating out or entertaining the family, to having your car serviced.
But it’s how the book is distributed that is really innovative. The books can be ordered online at www.purplevouchers.co.uk , but many are sold through local fundraising groups. Charities, schools, sports clubs, hospitals – all can benefit by selling the book. For each book sold, the seller retains part of the proceeds toward their own approved fundraising cause or project.
Jackie adds: “We are a real community-focused business. We help local consumers save money, we help local business grow, and we raise money for some of the very best causes out there. What’s not to love?”
The 2017/18 Purple Vouchers Doncaster book is due for publication in August, with the Leeds book following in September.
