The high street fashion brand River Island and the UK’s largest jewellery retailer, Argento, are both to upsize at Frenchgate shopping centre in Doncaster.
River Island is currently located on the first floor of the centre in the upper west mall and will expand to create a 10,500 sq ft unit.
The extra space will allow the fashion retailer to stock a full children’s range alongside a broader in-store offer.
Argento is extending into an adjacent unit and will double in size from 1,100 sq ft to 2,150 sq ft. The brand has also invested in a store refit to coincide with the expansion.
Paul Devlin, commenting on the news on behalf of The Frenchgate Limited Partnership, said: “We are thrilled that Argento and River Island are taking additional space with Frenchgate, which is driven by continual positive performance here.
“We keenly support brands upsizing and refitting their stores, creating an enhanced offer and strengthening our position as the area’s leading local shopping destination.”

“We are delighted to be launching this new store in the run-up to Christmas and look forward to the busy festive trading period at Frenchgate.”
The two larger stores have been joined by Krispy Kreme, WH Smith, Yours Clothing, Toys R Us and KFC, which have all signed extended leases and completed refits at Frenchgate.
The Gym Group, Patisserie Valerie, New Look Men and TK Maxx have all opened new stores at Frenchgate in the last 12 months, as part of over 100,000 sq ft of fit-outs.
