Switalskis Solicitors has appointed serious injury and traumatic brain injury claims specialist, Ewan Bain, strengthening the firm’s team in Doncaster.
Ewan, who is originally from Sheffield and now lives in Doncaster, joins Switalskis from Irwin Mitchell where he started his career as a legal helpline advisor, advising on all areas of law. He subsequently joined its serious injury team as a paralegal and has worked almost exclusively in the field of brain injury and personal injury claims since 2015. Ewan qualified as a solicitor in September 2017.
Working as part of Switalskis Solicitors director Mark Hollinghurst’s team, Ewan’s work helps people rebuild their lives following traumatic accidents. Using in-depth knowledge of the law and keeping abreast of developments in rehabilitation, he works on behalf of those who have been wrongly injured through no fault of their own with the aim to help them to lead an independent life again as far as is possible.
Says Ewan: “Helping people at a critical point in their lives and knowing that the work you do can lead to dramatic results in improving a client's life is incredibly humbling and rewarding. I pride myself on building a strong rapport with my clients and their families, supporting them through the difficult journey of their claim and recovery, which is also an approach Switalskis takes. I believe it’s essential for any brain injury lawyer to consider the wider family and the role they play in the recovery of the injured claimant and how they can be involved or supported to maximise the injured claimant’s recovery.”
Mark Hollinghurst says: “Ewan is a caring, responsive and hardworking solicitor and a valued addition to our team. Working with me on complex cases, Ewan delivers advice in a manner in which the client and families can understand and relate to, no matter their background, which is an important skill to have in this sector of law.”
Ewan is a member and an Accredited Litigator of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers in the field of serious injury and brain injury. Outside of work, Ewan enjoys spending time with his wife and twin girls. He is an avid Sheffield United fan and also plays football with friends on a weekly basis.
