The Wonderful World of the Wizard of Oz weaves a magical spell on Yorkshire Wildlife Park this Easter

The wonderful world of the Wizard of Oz is heading to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park for a stunning Easter event.

A professional cast of performers will weave a magical spell during the Easter holidays on April 13th, 14th and 15th.

The Wild Tales of Oz show has a unique take on the loved story and the fun will be enhanced by the chance to meet Dorothy and all her magical friends.

Children can join in with craft activities, create their own Oz themed artwork and watch Victor the Polar Bear’s Wild West Magic Show, a family show full of magic and illusion.

There will be a chance to meet all the characters from the land of Oz, and the fun-packed days also include Toto’s Easter egg trail, children’s craft activities, fairground stalls and the Wizard’s Hot Air Balloon fairground ride.

Visitors to the park at Branton, near Doncaster, can be transformed into the tin-man, scarecrow or cowardly lion by a professional face painter and there are plenty of chances to win a chocolate Easter prize.

“Easter is an amazing time at the park and there will be a variety of fun entertainment on each of the three days for people of all ages,” said YWP’s Events Manager Chris White.

“All this plus a unique walk through wildlife experience with some of the world’s most majestic animals makes for a memorable holiday outing.”

The park, the UK’s no.1 walkthrough wildlife adventure, is home to some of the world’s most beautiful and endangered animals, including Amur Tigers and Leopards, giraffes, lions, the country’s only four Polar Bears and many more.

The entertainment will be spread around the park and timetables of events will be given to visitors on arrival.

Some of the fairground rides and face-painting have an additional charge.

Families can also enjoy indoor and outdoor play areas, a shopping experience in the Safari Village and a variety of food outlets.

Since opening in 2009, YWP has become the UK’s fastest growing and most innovative wildlife attraction – offering families an entertaining and educational day out.
