Exciting news! Doncaster has been shortlisted for Best Dressed Host Location in the Tour de Yorkshire Best Dressed Competition.
The competition seeks to reward the people and places that went the extra mile to honour this year’s race. Race organisers Welcome to Yorkshire have been collecting nominations since the start of April.
Voting is now open so please get your votes in at the official Tour de Yorkshire Twitter page @letouryorkshire Voting will close at midday (UK time) on Tuesday 18 June.
Doncaster residents certainly did the borough proud with their creative efforts to decorate their towns and villages.
This year's race started in the Market Square and went through the town centre to Bentley, Toll Bar, Owston, Askern, Campsall and Norton with businesses, schools and residents pulling out all the stops to give the world's elite cyclists the warmest of Doncaster welcomes.
The competition follows hot on the heels of the Land Art competition which went to a public vote on Friday and focuses on the giant artworks on the route. Doncaster has been shortlisted in this competition too for the Cyclists in Action land art in Askern which was created using a special robotic line marker (to vote for this - visit letouryorkshire.com/landart The deadline is Friday 14 June.
